One disappointing aspect of the last three closely watched elections (the New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial elections and the Massachusetts special election) is the underwhelming turnout among the youth. However the fault is not the youth; it lies, instead, with the campaigns who continue to take the myth for granted, despite 2008, that youth won’t vote. Thus, the campaigns are relatively insular from the young voter’s perspective, lacking effective policy and communications outreach.

Here’s a piece at Politics Daily arguing that Obama needs to reinvigorate the enthusiasm of his youth support if he wants to get out of his rut and limit the damage in November.
